After twelve years of exposure to the elements, the shingles had lost much of their protective granules, and the roof had already required multiple leak repairs over the years. While temporary fixes had helped in the short term, it was clear that a full replacement was the best solution.

MVW Roofing stepped in with a full roof replacement done the Kalus Roofing Way. We removed old shingles and aging off-ridge vents, replacing them with a more efficient ridge vent system. To reinforce the vulnerable low-slope sections- like the back porch and the 2/12 pitch on the front of the home. We also installed double underlayment offering superior water resistance in these critical areas.

When a tree fell on Mrs. Karen's home after a hurricane blew through Nashville, Ga, she sustained significant damage to her home. Two cracked joists, five broken rafters, and exposed deeper structural concerns. The existing roofing material on the house, shed and carport were aged with rust, debris and failing seams throughout. To make matters more complex, the shed showed signs of termite damage, and asbestos roofing had to be carefully removed from parts of the structure. The home also featured crown molding as fascia and slat decking, which added layers of precision to the restoration.

MVW performed a full meatal roofing replacement on both the house and shed using PBR 26-guage metal for long-term durability and sleek aesthetics. We also addressed the carport with 29-guage MasterRib metal to restore its integrity. We removed existing metal and asbestos roofing. Repaired structural damage to joists, rafters and framing. Installed new soffit and fascia to the shed's rear. We carefully worked around crown molding fascia to preserve the home's original style. 

The transformation is striking. The crisp lines of the new PBR metal gives the roof a polished, modern look while offering unmatched strength and weather protection. And the structural repairs ensure Mrs. Karen's home and outbuilding are sound from top to bottom. The MVW Roofing crew began this process by removing the old roofing system down to the wood. Once exposed, we identified and replaced all rotted and damaged decking with high-quality CDX and OSB plywood. Due to the low pitch of the roof, we applied two full layers of Velora One synthetic underlayment for added water resistance and durability. 

We then installed Sealoron XT Ice and Water shield in all valleys and flashing zones to prevent leaks in high-risk areas. Next, we secured aluminum drip metal along all eaves and rakes, and replaced all vent pipe boots, bathroom vents, and other roof penetrations with new components.

Finally, we installed a full system of IKO Dynasty architectural shingles, fastened with ring shank nails for superior wind performance. The job was completed with matching ridge caps.

Mrs. Lindsey's home is now fully protected from any Southwest Georgia weather.
