MVW Roofing was recently tasked with replacing an old, worn roof with a fresh, durable one. The project started by completely removing the existing roofing down to the wood to ensure a solid foundation for the new materials.
Our team took careful steps to address any potential issues, replacing any rotted or damaged wood with CDX or OSB plywood. If necessary, we also replaced fascia wood and reinforced the rafters, which included sistering or replacing them. We made sure all decking was properly secured, back-nailing the plywood and taping all seams for extra durability.
Next, we installed an Ice and Water shield in all critical areas, including the valleys, penetrations, flashing, and eaves. This added an extra layer of protection against water damage. We then laid down synthetic felt across the rest of the decking for additional waterproofing.
For the roofing edge, new aluminum drip metal was installed on all eaves, and we upgraded the flashings with new Perma-Boots. We also installed new chimney flashings, as required, ensuring a seamless and secure fit.
The roof was then covered with top-quality IKO Dynasty architectural shingles in the sleek Granite Black color, providing a clean and modern look that’s built to last. We also added Turtle vents to enhance airflow and installed Ridge Caps for a finished appearance.
Throughout the process, we made sure to haul away all debris, leaving the property spotless once the job was complete.
Warranty & Insurance
As a testament to the quality of our work, the roof comes with a 50-year workmanship warranty, and all materials were guaranteed to meet specifications. We promised to complete the job according to standard practices and to address any changes with written orders and additional charges if needed.
With our workers fully covered by Workers' Compensation insurance, the homeowner can rest assured that both the project and its crew are protected. The proposal also accounted for any unexpected delays due to strikes or accidents, though the owner was responsible for carrying necessary fire, tornado, and other insurance.
