Tyler's home in Sylvester, GA was showing clear signs of roof aging, including worn shingles, an outdated attic vent, and a chimney in need of flashing repair. MVW Roofing was brought in to provide a complete roofing solution using the Klaus Roofing System, designed for long-term durability and protection.
We began by removing the old roofing system and addressing the structural challenges beneath. The home featured slat decking, which can create gaps that compromise underlayment and shingle installation. To resolve this, we installed 1x4 boards on the front section to close the gaps and create a smooth, solid base for the new system.
In addition, the property included two sidewalk transitions that required custom flashing and the installation of PVC board to ensure a clean, watertight finish. We also reflashed the chimney to eliminate previous vulnerabilities that could allow moisture intrusion.
To provide superior moisture protection, especially on the low-slope 3/12 pitch section, we installed two layers of Velora One synthetic underlayment, ensuring long-term performance in vulnerable areas. We also removed the round attic vent and replaced it with a more efficient ridge vent system for improved ventilation and aesthetics.
The final result is a clean, modern roof system that not only enhances curb appeal but also ensures lasting protection—built The Klaus Roofing Way™.
Mr. James' home in Sylvester, GA was showing serious signs of wear. The existing red metal roof had rusted over time, and the patchwork repairs around the chimney and vents were no longer holding up. Leaks had already caused damage to the wood structure below-and it was time for a complete overhaul.
Once the MVW Roofing crew removed the metal roofing, we uncovered extensive wood damage around the chimney and in the decking. Several rafters had been compromised by years of moisture, and the supporting wood showed signs of rot. We replaced damaged sections and rebuilt the decking to ensure a solid foundation.
We sealed all seams with deck tape and protected the structure with Velora One synthetic underlayment and Sealoron XT Ice and Water Shield in all valleys and around flashings. Once the base was secure, we installed beautiful new architectural shingles, reinforced with ring shank nails for lasting hold.
The finished product is a total transformation. Mr. James' home now has a strong, dependable roofing system-and a polished new look to match.
Mrs. Beverly's home in Sylvester, Ga had a severely rusted and aging metal roof that had clearly seen better days. The damage wasn't just cosmetic-beneath the surface, there were issues with rotten decking and a deteriorating chimney.
Our MVW Roofing crew got to work, starting with the careful removal of the old chimney and inspecting the structure beneath the roof. We installed 30 sheets of new plywood to replace rotted decking and reinforce the home's integrity. For long-lasting durability and weather resistance, we applied Velora One synthetic underlayment and topped it with a sleek, 29-gauge Galvalume MasterRib metal roof.
We also targeted structural repairs, including replacing a damaged 2x4 on the side of the home, ensuring everything was safe and sound without disturbing any more wood than absolutely necessary.
Now, Mrs. Beverly's home is protected with a strong, energy-efficient roof that not only looks great but is built to last for years to come.
